Adding pictures to your Google Slides presentations can make them more visually appealing and help communicate your message more effectively. However, there may be times when you need to delete a picture that is no longer relevant or replace it with something better. Deleting pictures in Google Slides is easy to do. Here are step-by-step instructions:
Open the Presentation and Select the Slide
- Go to Google Slides in your web browser and open the presentation that contains the picture you want to delete.
- In the left side panel, click on the thumbnail of the slide that contains the picture to open that slide. This will allow you to delete the picture from that specific slide.
Delete the Picture
There are a few different ways to delete a picture from a slide:
Method 1: Right-click and Delete
- Right-click on the picture you want to delete.
- Select Delete from the menu that pops up.
- The picture will be immediately removed from the slide.
Method 2: Select and Delete
- Click on the picture to select it. This will outline the picture with a blue border.
- Press the Delete key or Backspace key on your keyboard.
- The selected picture will be removed.
Method 3: Cut or Copy
- Click on the picture to select it.
- Click Edit > Cut or Edit > Copy in the menu bar. This will remove the picture but keep it on your clipboard if you want to paste it somewhere else.
- If you just want to delete it completely, you can also select Edit > Delete from the menu.
Additional Tips
- You can undo deleting a picture by pressing Ctrl + Z (Windows) or Command + Z (Mac) on your keyboard. This allows you to restore the picture if you delete it accidentally.
- Deleting a picture from one slide does not delete it from other slides in your presentation that might also contain that picture. You would need to delete it individually from each slide.
- Consider replacing a picture instead of deleting if it still adds value to your presentation. You can replace it by right-clicking the picture, selecting Replace image, and uploading a new picture from your computer.
- If you delete a picture you want to keep for future use, you can copy or cut it before deletion so it gets stored on your clipboard. Then you can paste it on another slide or even into another document.
Deleting pictures in Google Slides is quick and straightforward. Just select the picture and use the delete option in the right-click menu, press the Delete key, or use Cut/Copy from the Edit menu. With these simple steps, you can remove any unwanted or irrelevant pictures from your presentations.
